Paul Ibe, spokesperson for Atiku Abubakar's African Democratic Congress campaign, called for President Tinubu's resignation on Tuesday. He blamed the government's failure to curb insecurity across Nigeria.

Speaking on Arise Television's Prime Time, Ibe argued that security ranks as government's core duty. Citizens' welfare must come first, he insisted.

Nigeria is less safe now than in 2023, according to Ibe's assessment. He cited troubling figures to support his claim.

The statistics showed 879 deaths and nearly 300 people held captive. Ibe described these numbers as deeply alarming and reflective of the crisis.

"Are we more secure now than we were in 2023?" Ibe asked rhetorically. "The answer is No," he answered directly.

In his words: "Those statistics are very frightening. That's a snapshot of the pervasive insecurity that we have." Ibe condemned what he saw as insufficient government response.

The ADC aide rejected the administration's approach to tackling the challenge. "We can't continue on this journey of trial and error," he stated firmly.

Ibe went further with his criticism, attacking Tinubu's competence directly. "The truth of the matter is that Tinubu is incompetent and clueless," he declared.

Ibe contended that current efforts hadn't produced meaningful results. A change in leadership, he implied, was necessary for progress.
