Bashir Ahmad, a former spokesman to late President Muhammadu Buhari, has raised eyebrows with a bold prediction. He suggested that Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso might abandon the NDC if Atiku Abubakar joins the party.

Ahmad made the claim on Monday via social media. He argued the two ex-presidential candidates cannot compete with Atiku in a primary election.

"So what if Atiku Abubakar decides to join the NDC?" Ahmad posted on X. "Peter Obi and Sen.

Rabiu Kwankwaso will simply pack their bags and look for another party because they cannot stand against him in a primary contest?"

His comments signal growing speculation ahead of 2027. Political observers are watching whether major opposition figures will consolidate or fracture further.
