Maj.-Gen. Garba Abdullahi, the Commander, Corps Signals, Nigerian Army, has tasked troops of the 3 Division, Rukuba, near Jos, to be professional in their conduct.

Abdullahi gave the advice when he visited some of the formations and units under the division on Thursday.

A statement by Lt.-Col. Ishaku Takwa, the Acting Deputy Director, Public Relations of the division, quoted the commander as tasking officers and men of the various formations in the division to maintain high level discipline in line with military ethics.

”I’m here to evaluate the technical communication equipment in the division toward upgrading it for efficient and effective utilisation.

”Let me, however, charge you to maintain high level of discipline.

“You should always conduct yourselves professionally while discharging your duties of providing communications support to this division and all its formations and units,” he said.

Earlier, Maj.-Gen. Abdusalami Ibrahim, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), of the division, had noted that communication plays a cardinal role toward the success of every military operation.

The GOC, who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Brig.-Gen. David Kurmi, also noted the tremendous achievements recorded by troops of the division against criminal elements in its area of operation.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the commander visited 73 Supply and Transport Brigade Drivers Training School, 530 Signal Regiment and 535 Signal Regiment of the division and inspected their communication equipment.
