The All Progressives Congress has declared the Oye-Ikole federal constituency primary election inconclusive. Wasiu Adedoyin, who chairs the House of Representatives primary committee, made the announcement Sunday morning.
Issues during Saturday's voting prompted the decision. Adedoyin cited challenges and crisis observed by his committee throughout the election.
He noted that the party's National Working Committee will make the final call. Only this leadership body can resolve the matter now.
Two heavyweight candidates were competing for the ticket in that constituency. Akin Rotimi, current House spokesman, faced former lawmaker Bimbo Daramola as his main rival.
Other constituencies had clearer outcomes. Ibrahim Olarewaju won for Ilejemeje, Ido-Osi, Moba.
Oladapo Karounwi triumphed in Ijero, Ekiti West, Efon. Femi Bamisile claimed victory in Ekiti East, Emure, Gbonyin.
Olusola Fatoba emerged winner for Ado-Irepodun federal constituency. Toyin Okoro won the ticket for Ikere, Ekiti South West, Ise-Orun.
