Ekiti's APC primary for the House of Representatives hit a snag on Sunday. The party declared the Oye-Ikole federal constituency contest inconclusive.
Controversy and chaos marked the exercise in that constituency. Party officials decided to halt the announcement of any winner there.
Wasiu Adedoyin, who chaired the primary committee, made the announcement in Ado Ekiti. He said the party's national leadership would review what happened and make a final call.
According to him, no re-run would take place. Party rules and guidelines would guide whatever decision comes next, he noted.
Winners emerged in five other federal constituencies across the state. Steve Olusola Fatoba took Ado/Irepodun with 8,943 votes, crushing Tope Ogunleye's 1,760.
Oladapo Karounwi claimed Ijero/Ekiti West/Efon with 6,573 votes. Biodun Omoleye polled 1,412 while Victor Kolade got 2,096.
Ekiti East/Emure/Gbonyin went to Femi Bamisile. He polled 4,379 votes against his rivals.
Toyin Okoro's victory in Ikere/Ekiti South West/Ise-Orun wasn't close. He secured 9,798 votes to beat Rufus Ojuawo, who scored 1,842, and Idowu Alabi with 1,395.
Ibrahim Olarewaju won Ilejemeje/Ido-Osi/Moba with 6,856 votes. Kolawole Akinlayo, the incumbent, managed just 2,102.
INEC officials attended the results collation exercise. State party chairman Bar Olusola Eleshin and other party leaders were also present.
