APC Scribe Ganduje Urges Gov. Yusuf to Stop Diversionary Tactics and Address Failures in Kano State

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has called on the Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, to cease utilizing diversionary tactics to mask his administration’s shortcomings.
Ganduje’s remarks come in the wake of allegations of bribery and misappropriation of public funds against him and his family, which he has vehemently denied.
Ganduje, in a statement released on Friday, criticized the Kano State Government’s decision to file criminal charges against him over alleged bribery of $413,000 and N1.38 billion.
He described the move as a “sorry attempt” to divert public attention from the lack of progress and development in the state since the inauguration of President Bola Tinubu’s administration on May 29, 2023.
The former Kano State Governor, who held office from 2015 to 2023, also expressed disappointment in the state government’s disregard for the rule of law and the recent ruling by the Federal High Court in Kano.
The court had previously ruled that the alleged offense was a federal matter and could only be prosecuted by the Attorney General of the Federation and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Ganduje advised the state government to redirect its efforts towards improving the lives of Kano’s citizens, suggesting that they could learn from his blueprint for sustainable growth and development in the state.
He emphasized that his tenure was free of any wrongdoing and that the current administration still had the opportunity to emulate his developmental strides.
Furthermore, Ganduje welcomed the decision by the administration to set up two committees to probe him over alleged misappropriation of public property, political violence, and missing persons in the state.
However, he suggested that the probe should not be limited to his administration alone and should be extended to cover the period from 1999 to date.
He stressed that the investigation should be conducted transparently and in the interest of the public.
As the political tension between the APC National Chairman and the Kano State Governor escalates, it remains to be seen how the situation will unfold and whether the state government will heed Ganduje’s advice to focus on addressing the needs of the people of Kano rather than engaging in diversionary tactics.
