Nigeria's ruling party has shifted its House of Representatives primary election date. APC announced Saturday, May 16, 2026 as the new date for the contest.
Party spokesman Felix Morka made the disclosure on Thursday in a brief statement. He noted that all other primary elections remain on their original schedules.
Senate primaries will hold on Monday, May 18, 2026, according to him. State assembly contests follow two days later on Wednesday, May 20.
Governorship primaries are scheduled for Thursday, May 21, 2026. Presidential primaries will wrap up the exercise on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
APC had previously announced these dates for the 2027 general elections. Party officials didn't explain why House of Representatives voting was rescheduled.
