The National Youth Wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in collaboration with the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Youth Development, have expressed their unequivocal support for Senator Ned Nwoko’s efforts to actualize the creation of Anioma State.

They stated this when they paid a solidarity visit to Senator Ned Munir Nwoko at his Abuja residence on Friday. Senator Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, has been at the forefront of the campaign for the creation of Anioma State.

The APC youth delegation described the initiative as a bold and progressive step toward ensuring equity, representation, and development for the Anioma people. They commended Senator Nwoko's vision and dedication, highlighting his consistent advocacy for the upliftment of his constituents and his efforts to reshape the socio-political landscape of Delta State.

The group noted that the creation of Anioma State would not only ensure better governance and development for the region but also serve as a model for balancing regional representation across Nigeria. "Senator Nwoko’s leadership transcends political affiliations," one of the youth leaders remarked, adding, "This is about justice and fairness for the Anioma people, and we are proud to support his visionary agenda."

This visit marks a notable moment of bipartisan cooperation, as members of the APC join the growing chorus of support for Anioma State, alongside members of Senator Nwoko’s own party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The bipartisan backing underscores the importance of the Anioma cause as a national, rather than partisan, priority.

Senator Nwoko, visibly moved by the gesture, expressed profound gratitude to the APC youth delegation for their endorsement. He emphasized that achieving the creation of Anioma State requires collective effort and a unified voice, regardless of political leanings. "The call for Anioma State is a call for equity and justice. It is not about party lines; it is about ensuring every region in our federation has fair representation and access to resources and opportunities," the senator stated.

The senator also outlined the historical and cultural significance of Anioma State, stressing that its creation would address long-standing developmental imbalances in the region. He assured the delegation that their support strengthens his resolve to continue lobbying the federal government and other stakeholders to bring the dream of Anioma State to fruition.

The APC youth delegation also praised Senator Nwoko for his remarkable work in other areas, including his initiatives to eradicate malaria in Africa, his efforts to improve education and healthcare in Delta North, and his commitment to fostering economic growth in the region.

As the call for Anioma State gains momentum, political observers note that the unity exhibited by both APC and PDP members on this issue could set a precedent for bipartisan collaboration on other critical national matters. The visit not only solidified support for Anioma State but also showcased Senator Nwoko as a unifying figure capable of bridging political divides for the greater good.

The meeting ended on a positive note, with both parties expressing hope that the federal government would expedite the constitutional and legislative processes required for the creation of Anioma State.
