Anas Adamu Galadima has thrown his hat into the ring for Baruten–Kaiama's House of Representatives seat. The media and telecommunications professional, popularly called Zam-Zam, obtained his APC Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest the seat.
Security remains a critical challenge in the constituency. Galadima identified poor infrastructure and weak federal presence as major concerns affecting residents' welfare.
According to him, insecurity has made life difficult for communities in the area. Limited road networks and few economic opportunities have worsened the situation, he noted.
Baruten–Kaiama requires a representative who can work effectively with federal institutions. The aspiring lawmaker believes the constituency needs someone capable of attracting development projects and sustained national attention.
If elected, Galadima pledged to use his professional background to bring federal interventions to the area. He promised to focus on infrastructure development, economic growth, and improved social services across the constituency.
He committed to partnering with traditional rulers and community leaders on peace initiatives. Youth groups, women associations, and government agencies would also be part of his development strategy, he said.
Galadima praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's development efforts in both local government areas. According to him, no administration since 1999 has given comparable attention to Baruten and Kaiama's needs.
His career spans journalism, banking, and telecommunications sectors. He rose from reporter to Business Editor at Daily Trust before moving into the private sector.
Galadima completed executive programmes at Harvard Kennedy School. His areas of specialization include regulatory management, governance reforms, and programme evaluation.
