Former Ogun Governor Ibikunle Amosun says the APC in the state remains united. He dismissed claims of any internal friction within party ranks.
Amosun made the remarks on Saturday. He spoke while participating in the APC presidential primaries at Ward 6, Itoko in Abeokuta South local government.
According to him, the primary elections happening nationwide show solidarity with President Bola Tinubu. He stressed that party members across Nigeria are demonstrating commitment to the President's re-election bid.
"Today is very special," Amosun told party members and supporters gathered at the venue. "Today is for the President, and we must all come out and show we support him and the APC."
He noted that members have aligned behind a single position. Party faithful from across Nigeria are participating in the exercise, he added.
"We are orderly, and that is what it should be," the former governor continued. "All of us are speaking with one voice — no dissension."
Amosun emphasized that everyone has agreed on backing the President. He said party members want Tinubu to continue his work uninterrupted.
Observers saw the former governor standing in line with other party faithful. Crowds of APC supporters turned out in significant numbers for the exercise.
Afolabi Moruf Afuape, a House of Representatives member representing Abeokuta South, also spoke at the event. He described the turnout as proof of growing support for President Tinubu nationwide.
According to Afuape, APC members displayed remarkable enthusiasm during the primaries. Such energy, he noted, reflects confidence in the President's leadership and vision for the nation.
Afuape commended Amosun for participating in the exercise. He described the former governor's involvement as a positive sign showing party unity.
