Nollywood's biggest names turned out Wednesday to honour late actor Alex Ekubo at his service of songs in Lagos.
The ceremony took place at Monarch Event Centre in Lekki. Dignitaries, celebrities, and gospel musicians filled the venue to celebrate his life.
Former Education Minister Oby Ezekwesili attended the solemn gathering. Pastors Ituah Ighodalo and Jerry Eze led the spiritual programme.
Gospel artists Peterson Okopi, Ebuka Songs, Moses Bliss, and Mercy Chinwo performed during the service. Laud Urban Choir also ministered to mourners.
Actresses Funke Akindele, Kate Henshaw, Ini Edo, and Nancy Isime were present. Omoni Oboli, Dayo Amusan, and Ruth Kadiri also came to pay respects.
Actors including Ike Ogbonna, Stan Nze, and Kunle Remi attended the event. Comedian AY and media personality Frank Edoho were among the mourners.
Music stars Kcee, E-Money, and Chike showed their support. Cubana Chief Priest and socialite Yomi Casual also graced the occasion.
Ekubo died on May 11 at a Lagos hospital. He'd battled advanced kidney cancer for months before his passing.
His final burial rites will take place June 18 in Ujari Village, Abia State. Family and friends will gather to lay him to rest.
