Senator Ned Nwoko has outlined key achievements across Delta North Senatorial District, spotlighting infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment as the core of his legislative record, while signalling plans to deepen impact ahead of the 2027 political cycle.
In a statement to constituents, the lawmaker said his stewardship has been driven by “measurable improvement in the lives of the people rather than rhetoric,” stressing a commitment to inclusive and consistent development across the district.
Highlighting infrastructure, Nwoko pointed to the installation of solar-powered streetlights in both urban and rural communities, which he said have improved security and stimulated nighttime economic activities. He also cited the distribution of electricity transformers to restore power supply to homes and small businesses.
On water and environmental interventions, the senator noted the provision of solar-powered boreholes to expand access to clean water, alongside erosion control and drainage projects aimed at curbing flooding and protecting farmlands and residential areas.
Education, he said, has received significant attention, with classroom construction and renovation projects executed to improve learning conditions. He disclosed that 150 students have benefited from scholarship awards, while 1,500 students across the district’s nine local government areas were supported with registration for the 2026 JAMB examination.
The lawmaker added that scholarship initiatives have been expanded to include 150 beneficiaries under a Sports University programme and 500 others under a broader scheme extending beyond Delta North.
In the health sector, Nwoko said medical outreach programmes have delivered free consultations, diagnostics, and medications, particularly targeting rural communities, while primary healthcare centres have been upgraded to enhance service delivery.
He also highlighted ongoing efforts to combat malaria, revealing that a proposed bill to establish a National Malaria Elimination Agency is awaiting third reading, a move he described as critical to institutionalising the fight against the disease.
On agriculture and economic development, the senator said his office has facilitated access to tractors and modern farming tools, supported fish farming and livestock initiatives, and promoted cassava processing to strengthen food security and local value chains.
He further cited human capital development programmes focused on youths, women, and small business owners through skills training, financial support, and digital empowerment, alongside community projects such as market construction and modern town halls to boost local commerce.
Looking ahead, Nwoko said his focus remains on consolidating gains and expanding development to all communities within the district.
“Our journey is one of continuity, stability, and steady progress,” he said, expressing confidence that sustained support from constituents would enable him to deepen impact and build on existing achievements.
