Adelabu Expresses Concern Over Underutilization of Power Sector Investments

The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, expressed concern over the underutilization of the federal government’s huge investments in the power sector.

The statement came after the Minister’s inspection of the Benin Electricity Generation Company power plant in Ihovbo, under the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).

During his visit on Friday, the Minister acknowledged the government’s significant investments in the power sector, but he also noted that the sector has remained underutilised.

He assured the public that his ministry would work to address this issue and make the most of the investments made by the federal government.

The power sector in Nigeria has been plagued by several challenges, including issues with transmission and distribution networks, as well as a lack of adequate funding.

These factors have contributed to the underutilization of the government’s investments in the sector.

The Minister’s visit to the power plant in Ihovbo is a step towards addressing these issues and ensuring that the power sector in Nigeria is able to meet the demands of its growing population.

It is hoped that the government’s continued efforts will lead to improvements in the power sector and a more reliable electricity supply for the people of Nigeria.
