The African Democratic Congress held a South West zonal meeting in Ibadan on Saturday. Six newly elected state chairmen were formally presented at the gathering.

According to Abosede Busayo Oluwaseun, Osun ADC State Publicity Secretary (Elect), the meeting took place at Ibadan Business School in Old Bodija. The chairmen emerged through transparent processes, she noted in a statement released after the event.

Party members conducted state congresses across the South West in April. These formed the basis for the new leadership positions unveiled on Saturday.

Participants praised Rauf Aregbesola's leadership of the zonal executive committee. Other zonal leaders also received commendation for strengthening internal unity within ADC.

The National Secretary and National Chairman, David Mark, guided the congresses smoothly. Party officials described the processes as credible and well-conducted.

ADC highlighted its commitment to internal democracy and proper organizational procedures. The congresses demonstrated this commitment, according to the party's statement.

Members from the APC, PDP, Labour Party and NNPP have joined ADC recently. Growth continues as defectors align with the party's vision.

These new members share concerns about governance under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They're seeking alternatives to address Nigeria's mounting challenges, the party said.

Restoring good governance stands central to ADC's campaign message. Economic opportunities for ordinary citizens will receive priority, party officials promised.

Security remains a critical focus for the region. ADC vowed to tackle kidnapping and armed banditry across the South West.

Party leaders called on South West residents to join their movement. Grassroots mobilization efforts will intensify to restore hope, they added.

Strengthening democratic governance forms part of ADC's broader agenda. The party believes citizen participation at grassroots level is essential for progress.
