Comrade Omorodion Oregbe

Activist charges Lamidi Apapa to stay clear from Labour Party’s affairs

By Angela James,

An Edo-based human rights activist, unionist and politician, Comrade Omorodion Oregbe, has called on the factional chairman of the Labour Party, Alhaji Lamidi Bashiru Apapa to stay away from Labour Party, LP, and Obidient-related affairs for his good.

Comrade Oregbe made this known while speaking to our Correspondent in Benin following the mob action against Alhaji Lamidi Bashiru Apapa, the Acting National Chairman and other National Working Committee, NWC, members at the Appeal Court in Abuja, venue of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal alleged to have been sponsored by Julius Abure, who was restrained along with others by an FCT High Court from parading themselves as National Officers of the Labour Party on 5th of April, 2023 over forgery, perjury and criminal conspiracy with financial malfeasance to the sum of over four hundred million nairas ( 400,000,000:00).

Comrade Oregbe said that Alhaji Apapa was never seen during the presidential campaign for Peter Obi and noted that the only reason he could have decided to rear his head at this time when all Obidient are bent on reclaiming their stolen mandate was to create division in LP and Obidient movement to distract them from reclaiming their mandate.

The Unionists further said that people like Aisha Yesufu, Kenneth Okonkwo, Barr. Dele who is not members of LP is those advertising LP and not Alhaji Apapa who was never visible during the campaign for Obi.

He stressed that the Obidients are committed to their Mandate Recovery in the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal and rescuing Nigeria from economic downturn through Peter Obi noting that Apapa should stay off their tracts or will be dealt with.

” Nigerians are angry and Apapa does not know what Nigerians are going through that is why he’s trying to destabilize LP in favour of APC. He’s even lucky he was not killed. Obidient is different from LP, it’s the obidients that made LP what it is today. The heat you see today was created by the Obidients and they are ready to do anything to reclaim their mandate. They are struggling to rescue Nigeria from greedy politicians and Apapa just came out from nowhere to cause commotion”.

Continuing, ” You said you were supposed to board the same aircraft with Obi to Oyo state during the campaign but was not allowed to. What was your business in Abuja when you’re supposed to be one of those in Oyo preparing for Obi’s reception? The campaign was held in your own very state and you’re there in Abuja struggling space in an aircraft. You went to pick suspended persons as Exco members and you could not even identify them by name and office. I have been a party Chairman and know the rudiments of politicking. Apapa should withdraw from this ugly race of trying to distract Obidients from the ongoing tribunal case. You’ve seen the way and attitude with which the Obidients dismantled all that stood in their way. So beware!”.

He opined that the allegations levelled against Julius Abure are supposed to be a party affair and wondered why people will just rush to court without exhausting all party dispute resolution mechanisms.

“These allegations are supposed to be purely party affairs, not the court. They ought to have presented the issue before the party will set up a Committee to look into the allegations. Why must they rush to Abuja? Because they have a judge there who has been bought over. We know Nigerians, APC is seriously at work because they think they own all apparatus of government so they can manipulate anything. My advice to Abure is for him to approach an appeal court and forget about this small court.

APC is not a political party but a progressive union. See the way they messed up everything. They can’t give PDP documents needed to prosecute the election case. INEC is now an extension of the APC, what a shame. People because of what they will benefit will be doing the wrong things. If you are 50 years and above and still pursuing earthly gains you better have a rethink”.
