Julius Abure, the embattled factional chairman of the Labour Party, has vowed to continue fighting until the Supreme Court resolves the party's leadership crisis. He made the declaration Tuesday on Channels Television's Politics Today programme.

According to him, his faction built the party from the ground up. He stressed they have no intention of destroying the organisation they created.

Abure insisted the crisis cannot be truly resolved without a final court judgment. "It is when the Supreme Court gives a final verdict on the matter that it will be said to be laid to rest," he said.

He also accused the Independent National Electoral Commission of acting prematurely. INEC recognised Nenadi Usman as interim party chairman while the case remains pending.

In his words, the electoral body should have waited for the apex court's decision. "The proper thing that would have been done was for INEC to have waited till the final determination of the case by the Supreme Court," Abure added.

He acknowledged the party faces deep divisions over leadership. Still, Abure maintains injustice and impunity cannot be allowed to persist within Labour Party structures.

The party has been fractured for months over control of its top position. Multiple factions now claim legitimacy in the leadership contest.
