Abia Governor Otti Welcomes Opposition Members to LP, Prioritizes Security and Pensioners’ Welfare

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State announced that the doors of the Labour Party (LP) are open to members of opposition parties wishing to join the LP.

Otti likened a political party to a church where all are welcome, emphasizing that the ongoing good governance in the state will not be compromised by the influx of opposition members.

Addressing the issue of security, Otti revealed that he has been utilizing security votes to enhance the safety of Abia residents, in line with his campaign promises.

The governor acknowledged the high financial costs of maintaining security in the state, highlighting the successful arrests of key members of a kidnapping gang, including the leader who was apprehended at the Murtala Mohammed Airport while attempting to flee overseas.

Another member was caught in Port Harcourt, demonstrating the effectiveness of the Operation Crush security team established by his administration.

Otti expressed satisfaction with the progress made in addressing the issue of unpaid pensions in the state.

Pensioners who had been owed for years have now received their pensions, marking a significant step towards improving the welfare of retired citizens.

The governor’s statement reflects his commitment to fostering an inclusive political environment while prioritizing the safety and well-being of Abia residents.

As the state continues to tackle various challenges, the people of Abia can look forward to further improvements in governance, security, and welfare under Governor Otti’s leadership.
