In a meeting with the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsav, in Abuja, Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, urged the Federal Government to expedite the completion and utilization of ongoing dam projects in the state.
The Governor emphasized the importance of these projects in providing a sustainable water source for the state’s growing population and their potential to boost agricultural productivity and foster overall economic growth.
He stressed the need for the Federal Government to allocate sufficient funding to complete these projects, which are critical in addressing water scarcity and promoting socio-economic development in Zamfara.
Governor Lawal also appealed for the completion and utilization of the dam projects to scale up irrigation farming in the state.
In response, the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation assured the Governor of sending a team of specialists to Zamfara to evaluate the water conditions and recommend necessary actions comprehensively.
As Zamfara State continues to grow, the completion of these dam projects is crucial in ensuring a sustainable water source for its population and promoting agricultural development, which will ultimately contribute to the state’s economic growth.
