The Edo State Police Command has disclosed that 643 individuals have applied for recruitment into the Nigerian Police Force in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, made this announcement on Thursday at the aptitude test centers in Benin City.
Adegboye emphasized that joining the police force is not a clandestine process, but rather an open affair, and applicants should not be pressured into giving money to anyone to facilitate their employment.
He reiterated the message of the Inspector General of Police, IG Kayode Egbetokun, stating that passing the examination is the key to joining the force.
The Police Service Commission Chairman, IG Solomon Arase (rtd), has also emphasized that police recruitment is an open affair and not for sale.
Adegboye expressed confidence that 90% of the applicants are qualified and fit to join the Police.
The applicants who successfully pass both the aptitude and medical tests will be recruited into the Nigerian Police Force.
This development brings hope to the people of Edo State as the government aims to strengthen the security system by recruiting capable and qualified individuals.
