FG to Establish 24 Skills and Innovation Centers Nationwide

The Federal Government has announced its plan to establish twenty-four skills and innovation centers across the country.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), aims to provide a platform for practical training and mentorship for Nigerian youths and academics.

During a recent visit to the Innov8 Hub along UMAR Musa Yaradua Airport Road in Abuja, the Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, and the Executive Secretary of TETFund, Mister Sonny Echono, commended the partnership between the fund and the Innov 8 hub.

This collaboration has allowed learners and researchers from colleges of education, polytechnics, and universities to undertake impactful research.

Innov8 is a focal point for innovation start-up incubation, technology transfer, knowledge & skill impartation, prototype development, and fabrication.

The establishment of these centers is expected to not only provide an avenue for employable graduates but also to promote research and development in the country.

By establishing these centers nationwide, the Federal Government aims to make opportunities and resources accessible to all Nigerian citizens, regardless of their location.

This move is a crucial step in fostering the growth and development of the nation’s education and innovation sectors.
