Wolfsburg start pre-season without coach Kovac

Bundesliga club Wolfsburg started pre-season on Monday without coach Niko Kovac.

According to the club, Kovac missed the first training session due to personal reasons and is expected to join his squad on Friday.

The session was led by his assistant coach and brother, Robert Kovac.

Ahead of the new season, Wolfsburg are still looking for a left back.

According to media reports, Germany defender Robin Gosens is a top candidate but the transfer fee of around €20 million ($21.9 million) asked by Inter Milan is too much for the Bundesliga club.
