STRIKE: Group urge FG to yield to ASUU’s demands

By Angela James,

Edo State Coordinator of Tricycle and Motorcycle Riders popularly known as ANNEWATT, Comrade Oregbe Omorodion has called on the Federal Government to yield to the demands of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to save the future of students wasting away in their various homes.

Comrade Oregbe made this call while speaking to journalists on the lingering ASUU strike in his Union Secretariat in Benin.

” The Federal Government can afford to borrow money to fund things that are not of any benefit to Nigerians. They can make cash and material donations to countries that have little or nothing to contribute to the economy of Nigeria. But cannot spare money to build educational institutions in Nigeria. They have time to engage in politics and waste money on frivolities but cannot attend to the demands of ASUU. I don’t blame them, their children are not schooling here”.

He urged Nigerians to get their Permanent Voters Card, PVCs ready to vote out bad governance noting that the youths should rise up and fight for their future and that of their generations.

” The youths should take their destiny in their hands and vote out bad governance come 2023 general election. I am specifically referring to the youths because they constitute the majority of our voting population. The youths should rise up and fight for their future and that of their children by voting for their conscience. Reject their money and vote for the right person”.
