Former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has expressed optimism about Nigeria's future, stating that the country is on the right track following initial challenges in its efforts to reposition itself.
In his message commemorating Nigeria's 64th Independence anniversary, Omo-Agege noted that the nation has moved past its worst days and is now set for growth and stability.
Senator Omo-Agege said in a statement released by his Media Adviser, Sunny Areh, said, "After the difficulties we faced in the process of restructuring, it’s evident that Nigeria is on the road to recovery. The worst is behind us, and I believe we are approaching a period of renewed growth."
He urged Nigerians to avoid actions that could disrupt economic progress, such as strikes and protests, and instead, rally behind the government's reform efforts. "Now more than ever, we must come together to support the government’s economic initiatives and leverage the reforms for national development," he added.
Highlighting the Supreme Court's decision to grant local government autonomy, Omo-Agege emphasized that all levels of government are now better positioned to drive grassroots economic growth. He also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's economic reforms, describing them as crucial to building a brighter future for Nigeria.
He wished Nigerians a prosperous 64th Independence anniversary and expressed hope for a greater tomorrow.
