The Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA), on Thursday,  donated food items to 100 aged and less privileged women in Osun as part of activities to mark the 59th anniversary of the Nigerian Airforce (NAF).

Mrs Elizabeth Amao, the wife of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, made the donation on behalf of the association.

Amao, who is equally the President of the Association,  said the donated food items were to provide succour to the beneficiaries.

She said the gesture was also part of the activities to mark and commorate the 59th anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Airforce.

According to Amao, NAFOWA is a non-government organisation made up of wives of serving officers of the Nigerian Airforce.

She said by the grace of God, when she settles into the office of the Governor’s Wife, a lot of humaniterian works  would be carried out by her.

The wife of the governor called on cooperate bodies and individuals to join hands with the Osun government to provide a better life for the people of the  state, saying government could not do everything alone.

NAN reports that foods items donated to the beneficiaries included: 50kg bags of rice, 10kg bags of beans, cartons of noodles, packs of spaghetti, 10kg Semoviita, 10 kg gallons of vegetable oil, Milo Beverage and milk, salt and sugar
