A political pressure group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the U3 Political Front (UPF), has called on former lawmaker Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi to contest the House of Representatives seat for Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
The call followed a strategic meeting of the group held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Ekete Inland in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State, where members reviewed emerging political dynamics and leadership needs ahead of the next electoral cycle.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and signed by its Chairman/Coordinator, Udurukevwe Omonigho, the group said its decision was reached after “extensive and painstaking deliberations” involving members drawn from all kingdoms across the three local government areas.
The UPF stated that, based on its assessment, Ahwinahwi stands out as “a selfless, tested, and impactful leader whose representation remains unmatched,” urging him to once again offer himself for service under the APC platform.
According to the group, the constituency requires experienced and effective leadership at a time when strategic representation is critical to attracting federal presence and delivering meaningful development. It noted that Ahwinahwi’s previous tenure in the National Assembly was marked by significant contributions to human capital development, empowerment initiatives for youths and women, and efforts that laid a foundation for sustainable growth across the constituency.
The group further emphasised that Ahwinahwi’s legislative experience, political network, and grassroots connection uniquely position him to advance the interests of Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu at the national level. It described him as a unifier with broad-based acceptance and a leader deeply rooted in the socio-political fabric of the constituency.
“As the 2027 general election approaches, the moment is both critical and opportune,” the statement read. “Our constituency deserves proven leadership, experience, and a strong voice. Hon. Solomon Ahwinahwi remains the leader.”
The UPF maintained that his return to the House of Representatives would not only consolidate effective representation but also elevate the constituency’s visibility and influence in national affairs.
The group concluded by urging stakeholders and constituents across the three local government areas to rally behind the call, stressing the need for unity and strategic alignment ahead of the 2027 elections.
