The ambition of Delta’s prominent grassroots legislator, Hon. Victor Chukwuemeke, popularly known as “Mr. Due Process,” gained significant momentum today following his successful clearance by the All Progressives Congress (APC) screening committee.
Chukwuemeke, the serving Councillor for Ward 7 in Ukwuani Local Government Area, is making a bold leap from the local chambers to the National Assembly, eyeing the Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.
Political observers note that Chukwuemeke’s aspiration has electrified Delta North political circles. His transition from a sitting councillor to a federal hopeful is being hailed as a major win for grassroots democracy. Known for his uncompromising stance on accountability—which earned him his popular moniker—his candidacy is seen as a bridge between local governance and national legislation.
Speaking shortly after the exercise, an optimistic Chukwuemeke described the screening as a vital milestone. "This is a step toward offering purposeful representation," he stated. "I remain committed to delivering quality leadership and ensuring that the voice of the Ndokwa/Ukwuani people is heard with clarity and integrity in the 11th Assembly."
Supporters have described his successful screening as a "positive signal" for the APC, arguing that his emergence provides a much-needed platform for youths and underserved rural communities. As the 2027 race intensifies, "Mr. Due Process" appears set to leverage his grassroots reputation to challenge the established political order in the federal constituency.
