2027: Delta North will reject manipulation, embrace progress, Okolugbo tells Nwaoboshi

The Communications Office of Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North, has issued a scathing response to recent remarks by Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, accusing him of clinging to outdated political strategies and self-serving rhetoric.

In a statement signed by Hon. Gloria Okolugbo, Director of Communications for Senator Nwoko, the office expressed regret over Nwaoboshi’s inability to engage in introspection following his recent incarceration, labeling his comments as "delusional" and "out of touch with the aspirations of Delta North."

“It is regrettable that Senator Peter Nwaoboshi, rather than engaging in sober reflection and demonstrating humility, continues to indulge in delusions of grandeur and outdated political entitlement,” the statement read.

The statement lauded Senator Nwoko for his progressive leadership and focus on delivering democratic dividends to Anioma people. It contrasted this with Nwaoboshi’s tenure, which it described as marked by self-interest, manipulation, and a lack of accountability.

“Senator Ned Nwoko, a man of substance, vision, and progressive ideals, remains focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to his constituents and uplifting Anioma people. Senator Nwaoboshi, on the other hand, appears to have learned little from his time away—a period that should have been dedicated to introspection and remorse for his past track record as a ‘contractor senator,’ turning the dignified position of a legislator into a platform for merchant greed and personal gain.”

The statement dismissed Nwaoboshi’s claim of being “Mr. Equity” as laughable, citing his history of allegedly manipulating justice and bending the political will of Delta North for personal gain.

“The Delta North electorate is no longer beholden to political machinations and empty rhetoric. Nigerians, particularly Anioma people, have awakened to the necessity of leadership rooted in accountability, integrity, and development, qualities Nwaoboshi sorely lacks,” the statement asserted.

Senator Nwoko’s contributions to Delta North were highlighted, including his philanthropic initiatives, efforts toward malaria eradication, and legislative achievements. These, the statement argued, stand in stark contrast to Nwaoboshi’s “theatrics and penchant for controversy.”

“Leadership is not measured by inflated egos or narrow-minded posturing but by tangible achievements, genuine service, and a proven track record of public good. Senator Nwoko’s sterling human capacity development, philanthropy, and global contributions to malaria eradication stand as testaments to his commitment to equity and progress.”

The statement urged Nwaoboshi to focus on unity and rehabilitation rather than attempting to sow discord or rewrite history.

“Rather than attempting to rewrite history or engage in political mudslinging, Nwaoboshi should dedicate his energy to rehabilitating his tarnished image and convincing Delta North that he has indeed paid his penance. Electioneering should be the farthest thing from his mind in this new era where accountability reigns supreme,” the statement advised.

It also warned against dragging Senator Nwoko’s name into “futile attempts at political resuscitation,” emphasizing that the people of Delta North have moved on from the era of manipulation and mediocrity.

“The days of backdoor politicking are over. Delta North has moved on, and it is high time Senator Nwaoboshi did the same,” the statement concluded.

As Delta North continues to prioritize progressive leadership and accountability, the call for a forward-thinking, development-oriented approach remains louder than ever. The people of Anioma are resolute in their demand for governance that uplifts and unites, rather than divides.
