Orere leaders, women, youths protest unlawful attempts to impeach President General

Electoral body says Donatus remains the community PG

Orere community in Ewu Kingdom in Ughelli South local government area Delta State, the country home of late AIG D. Salomi was recently engulfed in a peaceful protest to condemn what they described as a nefarious attempt to overthrow the elected executive members of the community by some unscrupulous members of the community.

The protesters in their hundreds carried placards with different inscriptions such as “Agatigho Ehwebayere, Bishop Ederienroro Odutemu, Evang. Famous Irhobo and John Odutemu  to stop inciting the youths against the leadership of the community.”

should call the mischief-makers to order to avoid a total breakdown of law and orders in Orere community and its neighbouring communities of Ughelli south local government area, Delta State.

Addressing the mammoth crowd, the spokesperson for the women council, Mrs  Rebecca Okwagbe, the chairman of the community, Mr.  Ighoteguono Onomu and the electoral committee chairman of the community, Mr Matthias Emesechovwe respectively stated that present executive members of the community were constitutionally elected and sworn-in, in December 2020 during the national conference of the community to pilot the affairs of the community for the next four years.

According to them, the peaceful community wakes up on 27th June 2021 to be greeted with unpleasant news of a purported impeachment plot by Mr. Agatigho Ehwebare, Bishop Ederienroro  Odutemu, Evang. Famous Irhobo and their cohorts calling for the overthrow of the community’s Centre Executive Committee members, Elders, women councils and the chairman of the community and they immediately put in place illegal youths executive members who are now terrorizing the peace and tranquillity being enjoyed amongst the community people.

When contacted during the Elders in council, the Otota (spokesman) of the community, Chief Aladdin Osegi, Chief James Iboyi Isodje and chief Idudu Idarorohwo and others confirmed to newsmen the purported move by the trio of Ederienroro  Odutemu, Atatigho Ehwebay and  Evang.

Famous Irhobo is orchestrated move to overthrow the National and Centre executive members of the community including the Elders council as they forcefully collected the sum of twenty thousand naira and two bottles of hot drinks each from the elders of the community as a ransom to retain their positions.

“They called us to submit all the community’s properties in our possession including our chieftaincy title that we have been overthrown, they came back a second time to forcefully collect twenty thousand naira and two bottles of hot drink from us they said.”

Speaking to newsmen, the President General of Orere community, Comrade Donatus Emesechovwe said he is not perturbed with the purported impeachment move by some unscrupulous elements in the community.

He called on the Delta State government, the Commissioner of police Delta State command, Ughelli south council boss and relevant security agencies to invite those causing crisis in the peace-loving community of Orere in Ughelli south local government area of Delta State.
