Pemu commends Gov Okowa for massive development going on in Sapele

By Esada Uyono,

Hon. Festus Pemu, Chairman of the Festus Pemu Initiative for Social Development and Peace Building has commended the Governor of Delta State,  Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, for the massive development going on in Delta State especially Sapele, just as he has lambasted some of the State political office holders for not doing enough to complement the Governor’s efforts.

Pemu, while speaking to Newsmen at his office in Sapele in Delta State, said; “looking at the massive infrastructural development currently going on in every part of Sapele, and other part of the State, one would not help but appreciate the governor’s desire to bring prosperity to all Deltans.

“For instance, the New road by Adeola road, the Sapele/Warri road dualisation , Kings street and the rest. Projects are springing up across the state. You can’t stop thinking how he raised money for these gigantic projects in these lean times. Okowa has really done a lot for Deltans, we must be grateful for his good works.

“But my grudge is that some of his appointed and elected office holders like those Personal Assistants, the Senior Special Assistants and all other appointed and elected office holders are not helping matters.

“Opposition flourishes when those ruling forget the people; the truth is that most of these men and women appointed and elected in this government has been a big disappointment.

You can’t collect that fat pay and not empower five to ten persons in your locality, don’t just do it once,  like some of them are doing, let it be every month and if it’s enough, that person you have empowered will empower another person,  and so it trickles down and touches everybody.

“A lot of these office holders only wait for salaries at the end of the month and return to their bedrooms, they need to be challenged to tow the good governance project we are enjoying from the Governor.

“The SA, PA, SSA, EA and so on, to this ministry or that department, is only for their families and girlfriends, and I am challenging them to prove me wrong” he said.
