May Day: NUEE congratulates workers in the power sector

The National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, has congratulated its workers in the power sector calling on them to rededicate themselves to their jobs.

The Zonal Organising Secretary, ZOS, Edo/ Delta G &T, Comrade Nash Shuaibu made this call during 2023 workers day in Benin.

Comrade Shuaibu pointed out that NUEE and Electricity Workers has been critical partner in the economic development of Nigeria hence they deserve to be honoured and celebrated

“The labour and sweat of NUEE leadership, members, and Electricity Workers constitute the engine and lubricants of Nigeria’s economic growth and national development.

Electricity Workers deserved to be celebrated and honored considering the many challenges they encountered, ranging from poor remuneration, poor condition of service to a poor and unsafe working environment defined by the paucity of infrastructure and Management team recklessness and mismanagement of resources”.

The ZOS further commended NUEE for being dependable watchdogs that serve the interest of its members in the power sector and Nigeria Workers in general and urged them to remain resolute in their stand against victimization and the threat of sack prevalent in their various workstations.

“I call on all workers in the sector to be dedicated to their duties diligently to be counted and rated high in the committee of Nigeria Workers.

Together we can stand to stop the victimization of workers and the threat of sack that is prevalent in our various work stations”.
