14 Kidnapped Passengers of GIG and ABC Buses Released in Kogi

All 14 passengers of the God Is Good (GIG) Motors and ABC Transport buses, who were kidnapped on Saturday in Kogi, have been released on Thursday around 5.00 p.m.

The release was confirmed by SP Williams Ovye-Aya, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Kogi Police Command, in a phone conversation with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja. The passengers were reportedly abducted by gunmen while the buses were en route to Abuja from Kogi.

According to the police spokesperson, all 12 passengers of the GIG Motors and the two passengers of the ABC Transport buses were released unharmed.

The victims are said to be in good health and will soon be reunited with their family members.

While the PRO did not confirm whether any ransom was paid for their release, he did not provide any information on whether any arrests were made during the process of securing the victims’ freedom.

The release of these passengers comes as a relief to their families and the public, as kidnapping cases in Nigeria have been a major concern in recent years.

The police have been working to ensure the safety of citizens and to crack down on criminal activities.
