President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Dr. Zainab Marwa to the Senate for confirmation as an NDDC board member.

She'll represent the North East zone on the Niger Delta Development Commission's Governing Board.

Senate President read Tinubu's letter during plenary on Thursday. The president said the nomination aligns with NDDC Establishment Act requirements.

Marwa's appointment fills a vacant seat left by Hon. Abdulrazak Namdas.

Namdas resigned on March 30, 2026, to contest for Adamawa's governorship.

Tinubu expressed confidence the Senate would act swiftly on the nomination. He believes her confirmation will help the board pursue regional development effectively.

Lawmakers referred the matter to the Senate Committee on NDDC. The committee will conduct screening before the full chamber votes.
