Warri North women leaders, Itsekiri students storm DESOPADEC, seek partnership with Efele

Women leaders in politics from Warri North Local Government Area and executive members of the National Association of Itsekiri Students on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Director, Planning, Research and Statistics of DESOPADEC, Pst. Efele Eyewuoma Nicholas, at the Commission’s headquarters, signaling renewed grassroots engagement and youth collaboration.

Receiving the women leaders, Pst. Efele expressed appreciation for their visit and solidarity, urging them to embrace patience as a critical virtue in political participation. He noted that success in politics often requires endurance, recounting the journeys of notable individuals whose persistence over time eventually translated into leadership opportunities and rewards.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the women’s spokesperson, Ugedi Ebi, said the visit was aimed at formally introducing themselves and exploring avenues to key into the Commission’s empowerment programmes. She commended Pst. Efele for his warm reception and reaffirmed their readiness to contribute meaningfully to the growth and success of their political party.

In a related engagement, the DESOPADEC official also hosted the executive members of the National Association of Itsekiri Students, applauding their initiative to organize a forthcoming conference themed “Think the Globe.” He assured the students of his willingness to support their programmes within available capacity, emphasizing the importance of youth-driven ideas and development.

Earlier, the association’s president, Jemide Eyitemi, appreciated Pst. Efele for facilitating a functional office for the body but appealed for further support to enhance its operations. She highlighted the need for an office upgrade, a generating set, a marker board, a rug, and logistical support to enable visits to various chapters across the country.
