Governor Hope Uzodimma wants investors to know Imo State is open for business. He made the pitch Monday at Invest Lagos 3.0, held at Eko Hotel on Victoria Island.

Infrastructure has improved dramatically across the state. Security, power supply, and business conditions are all better, he argued.

Over 65,000 young people have completed digital skills training through Imo Digital City. Many are already employed or running tech businesses, Uzodimma noted.

Imo stands ready as an emerging investment destination. His administration has shifted away from government-run enterprises, he said.

"When I speak of IMO, I often say it means Investment Meets Opportunities," the governor told the audience. "We have repositioned government as an enabler rather than an operator of business, creating the right environment for private-sector growth."

Since 2020, the state has undertaken sweeping reforms. Road construction, electricity improvements, enhanced security and digital land systems now anchor the investment case.

Electricity generation and distribution now operate through a Public-Private Partnership model. Imo's Energy Free Trade Zone is already attracting petrochemical, fertiliser and gas processing investments.

Tax incentives and faster business registration are now in place. Natural gas deposits and other mineral resources position Imo for industrial expansion.

The African Development Bank is setting up a Quality Assurance Centre in the state. It'll support agricultural exports, Uzodimma explained.

Development of the Orashi River corridor is underway. Once complete, it'll improve logistics and regional market access.

Land administration is now fully digitised. Taxes have been harmonised and security strengthened.

Aviation, technology and hospitality sectors are seeing fresh investment. Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport is being upgraded.

Imo Digital City continues expanding. Hilton Hotels is preparing to open its doors in Owerri, he added.

Location matters, Uzodimma stressed. Imo sits between Onitsha, Aba and Port Harcourt—three major commercial hubs.

That positioning gives investors access to Southern Nigeria's biggest markets. It also makes Imo a natural trade gateway for the entire region.

"Overall, doing business in Imo State has become easier, more secure and more profitable," the governor concluded. "I invite investors to come and experience the opportunities firsthand."
