US Central Command said the boarding was part of enforcement operations that commenced earlier in the week.
American forces struck Iranian military targets for the seventh consecutive night on Friday, according to US Central Command. The strikes began at 1900 GMT and aimed to weaken Iran's defence capabilities, the military said.
