Uganda's top military commander has ignited controversy with a bold demand on social media. General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces, wants Jay-Z to hand over Beyoncé.

Kainerugaba posted the challenge on X in a series of messages. He told the rap mogul to surrender his wife or face him in combat.

"Jay-Z should give Beyoncé to me," he wrote publicly. "If he refuses, he should come to Uganda and fight me.

The winner will take Beyoncé."

The general, who is President Yoweri Museveni's son, didn't stop there. He boasted that his wealth far exceeds that of the music industry power couple.

According to him, he owns thousands of Ankole cattle. "Jay-Z is poor because he doesn't own Ankole cattle," Kainerugaba claimed in his posts.

He even suggested escalating the matter to international authorities. The general indicated he'd take the dispute to the United Nations.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z married in April 2008. They share three children and remain one of entertainment's most prominent couples.

Neither has publicly addressed Kainerugaba's unusual remarks. The couple has chosen silence on the matter.

This isn't the general's first controversial outburst. In 2022, he claimed Uganda's military could seize Nairobi in just two weeks.

That statement triggered a diplomatic row. Uganda's government apologized to Kenya and distanced itself from his comments.

Later in 2022, he proposed paying bride price in cattle for Italian PM Giorgia Meloni. Her office dismissed the suggestion outright.

Earlier this year, Kainerugaba ordered female soldiers to wear skirts instead of trousers. He declared that trousers belonged exclusively to men.

Military commanders who failed to comply faced disciplinary consequences. The directive sparked debate about military standards and gender norms.

His latest comments about Beyoncé have drawn worldwide scrutiny. Many observers question whether such statements befit a serving military chief.
