Tribunal Upholds Otti’s Victory in Abia Governorship Election

The governorship election petition tribunal sitting in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, has upheld the victory of Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election.

The tribunal threw away all the requests for lack of merit. Justice H.T.D. Gwadah, who delivered the judgement on Friday, said that the petitioners failed to prove their allegations beyond reasonable doubt.

He also said that Otti satisfied all the requirements of the law to contest and win the election.

The judgement sparked jubilation among thousands of LP supporters who came from different parts of the state to witness the verdict.
