Tragic Accident in Imo State: 5 Dead as Lord’s Chosen Bus Crashes into Coca-Cola Depot

A tragic accident involving a coaster bus belonging to the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Renewal Movement and a tipper truck occurred in Imo State, leading to the death of five individuals.

The accident took place on the busy Owerri-Onitsha Road and resulted in a gridlock, with the vehicles crashing into a Coca-Cola shop located in Orogwe, Owerri West Local Government Area.

Eyewitnesses reported that five people died instantly and were promptly evacuated by ambulance to a nearby hospital.

Some individuals were still trapped beneath the bus, and three workers from the Coca-Cola depot were among the deceased.

The accident was caused by the Lord’s Chosen bus driver’s attempt to overtake the tipper truck, leading to a loss of control and subsequent collision.

A resident of the Orogwe community mentioned that none of the Lord’s Chosen members lost their lives, but some sustained injuries.

The community member also stated that the accident was the Lord’s Chosen driver’s fault, as he attempted to overtake the tipper truck without considering the narrowness of the road.

Efforts to reach Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) personnel for comment on the incident were unsuccessful, as they declined to speak on the matter.

This tragic accident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for drivers to exercise caution while driving.

The incident has left the community in mourning and has raised concerns about the safety of the Owerri-Onitsha Road.
