Renowned Niger Delta leader, High Chief Dr. Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Pa (Senator) Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, describing him as an "irreplaceable voice for the voiceless and a fearless advocate for justice."
In a condolence message, Tompolo extended his sympathies to the Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo, the South-South region, and Nigeria as a whole, acknowledging that Pa Clark’s death has created a huge vacuum in the country’s leadership structure.
"The news of his passing came as a rude shock to me. Even though he was old, he was full of life and energy, so I was surprised to hear of his death this morning. Nigeria has lost its unique and potent voice in the South-South geopolitical zone, a true gift from God," Tompolo stated.
He described the elder statesman as a democratic and socio-economic crusader, who fearlessly spoke truth to power, stood up for the marginalized, and fought for justice, fairness, and resource control.
"Senator Clark was a strong, fearless, and irrepressible individual. He was a father to the fatherless, a defender of the Niger Delta people, and an unwavering advocate for equity and good governance. We will miss him deeply," Tompolo added.
Praying for strength for the bereaved family and the entire country, Tompolo urged Nigerians to honor Pa Clark’s legacy by upholding his principles of justice, fairness, and national unity.
