Tinubu Vows to Support State Governors in Banishing Hunger and Ending Economic Hardship

President Bola Tinubu has pledged his administration’s support to the 36 state governors in their efforts to banish hunger and end the economic hardship currently faced by Nigerians.

The President made this commitment during the inauguration of tractors and other agricultural equipment in Niger State.

Acknowledging the current challenges faced by Nigerians due to recent policies, President Tinubu assured that these difficulties are not insurmountable and will be resolved in due course.

He called on state governors to collaborate in providing lands and making provisions for cattle rearing and livestock farming in a peaceful and cordial environment.

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago, during his address, revealed that the state has secured $20 million from foreign partners to cultivate 1 million hectares of land for the production of 50 million metric tons of assorted grains annually.

This initiative is expected to generate N500 billion in revenue for the state each year and create over one million direct and indirect jobs for youths and women within the state.

Governor Bago also emphasized the commitment of his administration to tackle banditry and other crimes, stating that all forest hideouts used by criminals would be cultivated to ensure they have no safe haven in Niger State.

With the combined efforts of the federal and state governments, the agricultural initiatives being adopted in Niger State and across the country aim to address the current economic hardship and pave the way for a more prosperous and secure Nigeria.
