Tinubu to Inaugurate Groundbreaking Projects at National Fire Academy

President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to perform the ground-breaking ceremony for several key projects at the National Fire Academy on May 28.
This event marks a significant milestone in the one-year anniversary of the present administration and its commitment to strengthening the nation’s emergency response capabilities.
The National Fire Academy, the training arm of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), is set to expand into a world-class facility that will not only retain foreign exchange by cutting down on foreign trainings but also provide training to personnel from other countries.
Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, announced the groundbreaking ceremony during his inspection of ongoing projects at the academy.
Among the projects to be inaugurated are a Clinic, Worship Centres, Props Centre, Sports Arena, Lecture Halls, and Hostels.
These developments will elevate the National Fire Academy to a level comparable to the best fire training institutions in the world.
Minister Tunji-Ojo emphasized the importance of the Fire Service as a mandatory profession in society, highlighting its role in securing lives and property as well as providing emergency and rescue services.
The government’s commitment to the expansion of the National Fire Academy is driven by the potential for growth and development within the sector, which has been largely untapped.
The one-year completion period for the new projects underscores the government’s determination to bring the best out of the Fire Service profession and create a facility that Nigeria can be proud of.
The academy’s training capabilities are expected to meet both local and international demands, fostering collaborations and affiliations with local and international agencies.
In a show of support for the expansion, Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Danladi Chiya, announced that the Council has decided to cede more land to the Fire Academy.
This gesture reflects the community’s recognition of the importance of the National Fire Academy in ensuring the safety and security of the nation.
The groundbreaking ceremony on May 28 promises to be a momentous occasion for Nigeria’s fire safety and emergency response sector, as the country takes a significant step towards enhancing its capabilities and fostering international cooperation in this critical field.
