President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has clinched the APC presidential ticket for 2027. He defeated his sole challenger, Stanley Osifo, by an overwhelming margin.

Official results showed Tinubu secured 10.99 million votes across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Osifo managed just 16,504 votes in comparison.

Election officials announced the figures at the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja on Thursday. This was where the primary election results were collated.

In his acceptance remarks, Tinubu urged party members to unite behind his candidacy. He warned against allowing politicians without concrete plans to derail the nation's progress.

"I accept this nomination with renewed determination to serve our people," he told supporters. According to him, APC members had given him the honour of being party torchbearer.

Tinubu pledged to construct a more inclusive government going forward. He said such an administration would listen to Nigerians and serve their best interests.

"Together, with God's help, we'll build a more secure, united, and prosperous Nigeria," the president noted. He made the commitment before a packed audience.

He framed the 2027 elections differently than past campaigns. In his view, voters shouldn't see it as a party contest but as a test of democratic maturity.

Tinubu's administration has made significant strides, he insisted. He called on citizens not to settle for complacency by backing politicians offering no real vision.

"Let's not allow them take our country backwards," the president added. His words drew sustained applause from party loyalists present.
