Three Killed, Including Police Inspector, in Boko Haram Attack on Borno Road

Three individuals, including a police inspector, have been killed in a fresh Boko Haram attack in Kukareta, Kaga Local Government Area of Borno State. The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 10:33 PM.

The terrorists set ablaze the police officer along with a makeshift camp accommodation, and also made away with arms and ammunition along the Maiduguri-Damaturu Road.

Two civilians were also killed as the terrorists shot them, and the vehicle of the district head was set on fire.

The attackers also took a Hilux vehicle belonging to the civilian Joint Task Force operating in the community.

During an assessment visit to the scene, the vehicle of the Commander Sector 2 North-East Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai stepped on an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), which exploded and damaged the commander’s vehicle and injured the driver on his leg.

The commander and his radio operator were unhurt.

This latest attack follows a similar incident that occurred five days ago in Gajiram, the headquarters of Nganzai LGA, where four police officers were killed.

The ongoing threat of terrorism and attacks by Boko Haram remains a significant concern for the Nigerian military and the safety of its citizens.
