Sudan's transitional government is partnering with major Western powers to protect civilians in El Obeid.
According to the Council of Ministers, officials are coordinating actively with the United States, Britain, and the European Union on the matter.
The government wants to implement "urgent and practical" steps that shield ordinary people from harm.
International oversight from the UN and African Union will supervise these protective measures, authorities noted.
Sudan's leadership also plans to work closely with global and regional humanitarian bodies delivering relief supplies.
Khalid Danaa, the Information Minister, signed the statement confirming the government's commitment to these efforts.
Officials say they remain ready to engage with all international and regional stakeholders on the crisis.
