Soludo Admits to Prioritizing Party Loyalty in Road Construction Decision

The Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, admitted to initially refusing to construct the road on Nwokedi Street in Okpoko community, Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state, due to the House of Representatives member representing the area, Noble Igwe, being in the opposition party.

Soludo made this revelation while inaugurating 12 km of roads in the Okpoko area on Monday, March 18.

The governor explained that when Igwe, who was formerly in the opposition, brought the poor state of the road to his attention and advised it should be repaired, he dismissed his complaints because of his political affiliation.

However, Soludo’s stance changed when Igwe joined his party, and he decided to listen to his concerns.

Soludo emphasized the importance of supporting his government and being part of the “bedroom” where decisions are made, rather than remaining in the “parlour” as an outsider.

He advised the people to rally behind his administration, stating that even if there were no funds in Anambra, he would be willing to use all the available resources to develop Okpoko.

The governor’s decision to prioritize party loyalty in the decision-making process raises concerns about the potential impact of political instability on infrastructure development and the overall well-being of the state’s citizens.

It is important for leaders to consider the needs of their constituents and prioritize development projects based on merit, rather than political affiliation.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how Soludo’s admission will affect the political landscape in Anambra and whether his government will prioritize the needs of the people above party politics in future decision-making processes.
