Secondus Urges PDP Leaders to Counter Wike’s Political Tactics

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has called on party leaders to address the actions of Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, who is allegedly using the PDP to maintain political relevance in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In a statement by his media adviser, Ike Abonyi, Secondus advised PDP leaders to focus on the party’s interests and not be distracted by Wike’s actions.

Secondus, in his advisory ahead of the PDP’s 98th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, urged leaders to take all necessary steps within the law to restore the party’s glory and counteract any attempts to create a false crisis for political gain.

He emphasized that Wike’s actions are causing political instability and that it is crucial for the party’s leadership to come together and address these issues.

“By deviously trying to create the impression that he is in a tussle of supremacy with the 2023 Presidential Candidate of the party and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Wike who is copiously losing political relevance everywhere from Rivers to Abuja is trying to give the impression that he is a factor in PDP and holding it for his APC interest,” Secondus said.

The former PDP Chairman urged the party’s critical structures, including the NEC, Board of Trustees, National Caucus, Governors’ Forum, and National Assembly Caucus, to work together to isolate those causing problems and move the party forward.

He stressed the importance of not giving Wike any more attention than he deserves and urged the party to focus on its core values and objectives.

Secondus’s call for unity and action within the PDP highlights the importance of addressing political instability and ensuring the party’s leaders work together for the common good.

As the PDP prepares for its 98th NEC meeting, the spotlight is on its leadership to address these challenges and maintain the party’s integrity and relevance in Nigeria’s political landscape.
