Rivers United's technical adviser Finidi George believes his squad must train hard before the new campaign kicks off. The Pride of Rivers finished runners-up last season, losing out to Rangers International in the title race.
Pre-season training commenced on Monday in Port Harcourt. According to Finidi, an early start gives the team a real chance to compete strongly throughout the year.
The former Nigeria international told club media that blending new recruits into the existing group matters greatly. "We'll focus on building fitness, establishing tactical cohesion and integrating our new signings," he noted.
Finidi added that continental competition demands thorough preparation from day one. Rivers United will battle on three fronts this season.
They'll compete in the NPFL, CAF Champions League, and President Federation Cup. That's a demanding schedule ahead.
