Reno Omokri Warns Against Nigeria’s Descent into Chaos: Lessons from Haiti’s Crisis

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has drawn attention to the ongoing crisis in Haiti, where gangs have taken over the government in a complete breakdown of law and order.

He warns that Nigeria could face a similar fate if it does not learn from Haiti’s experience and unite against banditry.

During the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Nasir El-Rufai began the practice of paying ransom to bandits, a move that Omokri believes was not adequately addressed by the government or the media.

As a result, bandit attacks and abductions have become more common, with some citizens even paying taxes to these criminals.

Omokri points to the example of Haiti’s gang lord, Barbecue, who is now effectively the leader of the country.

He fears that Nigeria could also end up with a gang leader calling the shots in Abuja if the issue of banditry is not addressed.

The former presidential aide also highlights the incident in which bandits attacked Kuje prison and freed hundreds of their colleagues during the Buhari administration.

This event further emphasizes the need for Nigeria to take swift and decisive action against banditry to prevent a further escalation of the crisis.

Reno Omokri’s warning serves as a call to action for the Nigerian government, media, and citizens to unite against banditry and prevent the country from descending into the same chaos that has engulfed Haiti.

By learning from Haiti’s crisis, Nigeria can work towards maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of its citizens.
