ReelFruit Champions Sustainable Manufacturing with Support from FCMB

Nature’s Bounty Health Products Limited, trading as ReelFruit, recently inaugurated an 800-metric-ton manufacturing plant in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

This new facility, supported by First City Monument Bank (FCMB), represents a remarkable stride in sustainable manufacturing, environmental responsibility, and job creation.

The plant, financed by FCMB, demonstrates Nature’s Bounty’s commitment to large-scale production while minimizing its environmental impact.

This initiative is part of a broader effort by the Nigerian food technology startup to transform abundant local fruits like mangoes, coconuts, and cashews into healthy snacks, preventing post-harvest wastage and protecting farmers from revenue loss.

Affiong Williams, Founder and CEO of Nature’s Bounty Health Products, highlighted the importance of the new factory, stating, “This facility is more than just bricks and mortar; it embodies my unwavering belief in Nigeria’s agricultural and manufacturing potential.”

With this new facility, Nature’s Bounty aims to scale its dried fruit production to serve customers nationwide, export ‘Made in Nigeria’ products globally, and transform the agribusiness landscape.

The new plant allows Nature’s Bounty Health Products to increase the production of its variety of ReelFruit products from 6 to 30 metric tons monthly, creating over 200 jobs.

This initiative is a testament to the company’s commitment to social impact, supporting underserved communities, and promoting Nigerian products globally.

Mrs. Yemisi Edun, Managing Director of First City Monument Bank, emphasized the bank’s support for businesses that share their vision of a sustainable and inclusive Nigeria.

“Nature’s Bounty Health Products and its brand, ReelFruit, embodies this commitment, adding value to local produce while prioritizing sustainable manufacturing practices and job creation.”

The new factory’s energy-efficient machinery and advanced effluent system set a standard for the agribusiness sector, demonstrating a successful balance between economic development and environmental protection.

Ogun State Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela, lauded the new plant as a symbol of the can-do spirit of Nigerians.

He stated, “We are excited to host this facility, which offers many benefits to our state and Nigeria.

Our government is committed to fostering industrial development by creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.”

This development marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s journey towards sustainable manufacturing and economic growth.

It showcases the potential of local businesses to make a global impact while prioritizing environmental responsibility and social development.
