Real Madrid have secured Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan for a reported €20 million. The club announced the deal on Sunday, with the 30-year-old signing a four-year contract through June 2030.

"We have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Denzel Dumfries, who will be with our club for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2030," Real Madrid said in a statement.

Dumfries joins after representing the Netherlands at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where Morocco knocked them out on penalties in the Round of 32. He'll compete with England international Trent Alexander-Arnold for the right-back position at the Bernabéu.

The defender spent nearly four years at Inter Milan following his 2021 move from PSV Eindhoven. During his time in Italy, he won two Serie A titles and featured in two Champions League finals with the Nerazzurri.

This marks Real Madrid's fourth summer signing, joining Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, and Ibrahima Konaté in arriving at the club. Manager José Mourinho, who replaced Álvaro Arbeloa, is reshaping the squad after two seasons without a major trophy.

Madrid also extended Antonio Rüdiger's contract until 2027 following the departures of Dani Carvajal and David Alaba at season's end. The moves signal the club's determination to rebuild and challenge for silverware next term.
